Are you looking for a way to transfer or copy legends from one Revit model to another? Ever wondered why Revit out-of-the-box does not support transferring or copying legends?

The work around is to download a free plugin called Transfer Legends from the Autodesk App Store to transfer legends from one model to the other. See link below.

The way this plugin works is that it can only transfer legends from linked Revit models into the active model. Therefore you need to link a Revit model into the active model first. Once the model is linked in, Transfer Legends will show the linked model and the available legends in the pull down tab.

One slightly annoying thing about this process is that pop-ups are not suppressed. You must be present to click “OK” for each legend being copied. Apparently suppressing pop-ups is a really hard thing to do for many apps. Other than that, the plugin works like a charm.

This link will take you to the Autodesk Apps store.

You need to add a widget, row, or prebuilt layout before you’ll see anything here. 🙂
