When placing a face-based lighting fixture onto a Work Plane, the light fixture is forced to hang “upward” rather than “downward”. This is because the work plane is facing upward by default and this cannot be changed. Because it’s facing upward, the light fixture family treats the work plane like a floor thus causing the lighting fixture to come in upside down. This forces designers to place face-based lighting fixtures on the bottom of ceilings, but what can you do if you can’t find a good ceiling to work with. What if the arch model doesn’t have ceilings yet? What if the ceilings are turned off? What if they’re missing? I empathize for lighting engineers who sometimes do not have a ceiling to work with and all they have are face-based lighting fixtures.
