What’s better? Floating, Face-hosted, or Hosted families?
Answer: Floating is superior.
Face-hosted is only great for wall types, but even then model management for face-hosted families is a nightmare. Great for when they are first placed, horrific for making changes down the road. The benefit for moving whenever walls, floors, and ceilings move, is rarely rewarded. Architects are more inclined to delete and recreate their surfaces rather than simply move, for many design related reasons and often because it’s easier to start over.
Never Hosted. Delete them all.
