Use this script to get all shared parameters in a project or a family. This is useful when you need to verify the GUID especially when there are duplicate parameters found in a project or family. The most frustrating thing is when schedules don’t pull data together consistently because the wrong parameter is being used even though it’s named exactly the same.
There are 3 versions of this script. See table below which version you should use.
Dynamo | Revit |
1.3 | 2017 to 2019 |
2.6 | 2020 to 2021 |
2.12 | 2022 and later |
How to use this script:
- Open your project or family.
- Open Dynamo and open the script.
- Check that the script is pointing to the Excel file on your computer. It’s ok if you forget to check this as Dynamo will automatically create an Excel file for you at the same location as the script if it does not have a proper file location.
- Run the script. Excel should pop up automatically on your computer. Pay attention to the GUIDs and record them in your notes for future reference.
- Optional step. In Excel, highlight the top row, then select Data > Filter. This turns the top row into filters so you can quickly sort the data by alphabetical order.
