The following steps are considered the fasted way to get into a blank Revit project. This is especially useful for getting into Dynamo, test families, create test models, use a temporary model for transferring families and cleaning before transferring to the project model, and more.

    1. Go to File > New > Project.
      elevatebim-blank-project-1
    2. For Template file, select None. Click OK.
      elevatebim-blank-project-2
    3. Select your system of measurement. Imperial for North America, and Metric for everywhere else.
      elevatebim-blank-project-3
    4. Congratulations, you are now in a blank Revit project with zero loaded families and the absolute minimum system families required to start a project.

Note that throughout this website, the word Project and Model will be used interchangeably as they mean the same thing for Revit.
