Searching for views, schedules, sheets, or families in project browser can sometimes be very difficult. Elements may not be organized well, depending on the model setup, or they may have moved to an unexpected location in the project browser causing them to seemingly disappear. Manually searching for specific items can be a time sink especially when projects are very large with many views and valuable time should rather be spent on productive tasks.

The good thing is that elements in the Project Browser can be searchable using the out-of-the-box search function. This includes Views, Legends, Schedules, Sheets, Families, Groups, and Revit Links.

The search function can be activated by two ways:

  1. Right click on any item in the Project Browser to bring up the context menu, then select "Search" to bring up the "Search in Project Browser" window.
  2. Or, while the Project Browser is activated (click once in the project browser), press CTRL+F on the keyboard to bring up the "Search in Project Browser" window.

Notice that it's possible to modify the search by checking "Match Case", which will match the exact capitalization of your search.
